MrPink I'm just getting to know this album, an ex GF introduced me to these in 1987 i heard Curse and didn't hear them again for years, and now i'm rediscovering them as of a few yrs ago

mattyg107 Even after all the years this is one I still don't fully appreciate, which bothers me a bit. There's so much depth and richness here and maybe I was just spoiled by listening to the 90's/late 80's era first so this seems to not grab me as much. It's two lps worth of content so you get an album full of variety. The first half are the more structured songs and the second has the abstract, experimental trippy pieces. In the end giving it any lower than a 4/5 would be silly, it's great work. Favorite track: Demonism/Prisoner.

Misha Langley For once, I can confidently proclaim "Golden Dawn" as one of my favorite Legendary Pink Dots songs, period. Favorite track: Golden Dawn.

RTW It's really their masterpiece, isn't it? Learning this album is like digging deeper into a world of art and creativity that most people never get to see. The album is sequenced so that it gets more out there as it progresses, including a monumental 4th side of frenetic madness, the spoken word of god, backward masking, and funereal despair. Favorite track: So Gallantly Screaming.

about

1985.The band limped back from the Netherlands, destitute and emotionally crippled after a series of events that could have finished them. The decision to record once more in Patrick's bedroom studio after the experience in the high class radio outfit in Holland was a conscious one. This remaster is pretty dramatic, but listen closely and the odd buzzes and clicks are still there- they were simply part of it.
Asylum: A place to escape to,a place to escape from....
