thenewspaper One of the more feelgood dots albums, pure folkadelia with a swampy-bottomed C-side for coming down. Glad the material from the singles is being carried onto the main, and the artwork is very faithful to the original press (love that spiky cathedral demon!) Favorite track: Citadel.

Nethescurial There was no band like LPD then and that is still true today. This is one of their very best albums and they have a great many of them! Favorite track: Citadel.

waynealbertbraun I love this album because it is otherworldly. Damien lifts your biofield into the air.

Robert Freaktent So hard to pick a favorite LPD album, but this may very well be it. Favorite track: A Velvet Resurrection /Kolussim.

RTW From Here launched the band on the Soleilmoon label and began a very lucrative "American" era, whereas the entirety of their career up to this point was predominantly European. The tour for this album was the first time I saw the Dots live, in Chicago. I will almost always equate these songs with that experience. A double vinyl release of this one with the Remember Me This Way tracks on side 4 would fulfill a longstanding dream. Favorite track: Citadel.

No album caused as much debate within The Dots as this one in 1995.It was all about the order of the tracks...quite simply no permutation seemed to work. Ultimately Phil (The Silverman) took the bull by the horns and asked for the independent opinion of long-term LPD friend Christoph Heemann.
The verdict was to leave certain songs off ("Beautiful Machine", "Anastasia", "Day Zero").
The resulting storm could be heard in the South of Belgium and a compromise was the "Remember me this Way" EP - a release which also settled disputes over the mix of the title track.
Even today, there can be debate about this album in Dots' circles but the author of this piece admits that "From here" stands as a personal favourite.

I love having this in CDR format because: a) it is Edward; b) I have The Quarantine Tapes of which this is the first “volume” and, like it or not, cassette tapes are cool but they are not ultra-durable; c) the music is fabulous (OK, this should probably be the first reason, but since I already have the cassette, it must languish at “c”); and d) hopefully this means the remaining three volumes of The Quarantine Tapes will be released as lovingly made CDRs.
