Recorded at The Wagenmeister in Basel, 2005, a club so tiny that if you blinked you'd wind up in Germany.
In fact this wonderful little venue literally sat a few hundred metres from the line dividing Switzerland and the European Union.Ibrahim was the man in charge- he maintained the PA, prepared the acomodation and fed the artists (very well). The place oozed tender loving care.
Don't expect hi-fi from this recording- the equipment was primitive. However, this was a place where performers felt completely free to explore. That's why the music is divided into two parts- the set and the encores.
This night was shared with Toby Dammitt and das Verkannte Modul.
Jean Jacques Birge is an artist with a history so rich with good music, it's possible to forget that there's life outside this submarine. Hours of deep listening await the curious listener. Legendary Pink Dots

I was lucky to see Edward live in '87. A highlight to be sure having discovered his vinyl in a local record shop a few years earlier and falling in love. I was convinced I would never see this shaman live considering his home location but, got the surprise of my life when he ended up being the opening act for Skinny Puppy that year. We met and he was just as warm and wonderful as I could have imagined. Quiet and reserved with a devilish grin. Love you, my friend. What a wild ride it has been! Nine Lines of Crime
