thenewspaper oh ahhh! Didn't realize this had a lot of Under Triple Moons on it. I love, love the mastering and tone of that compilation, and this sounds more like a tape, but it has that spacey neon vibe that was honed so quite well by this band. I still would not mind having Under Triple Moons revisited, because that is a masterflow of rich sequences, and I feel like it was mastered to have a mellow Whispering Wall-era vibe, compared to this one's tingly tintinnabulations. Favorite track: Premonition Part 1.

Christian Mumford always invited to Lisa's party... puppet school or babysitter for tarots and getting stoned... Favorite track: Love Puppets (version 1).

Benissn 3000 My parents own the cassette release from 1983 (Ding Dong Records) and i've been listening to it since i was a little child (i was born in 1981) – that album has influenced me in so many ways, the remaining characters in this message won't nearly be enough! I'm so glad about that remaster!

RTW I've always been hard on this one, despite a few nice songs; this version is more complete with transitions intact. The great, bizarre "Odd" has been restored, but "Before the End" feels unnecessary and "Dying for the Emperor" unwelcome. "Brighter Now" is entirely missing from this edit. Thomas Heckmann's remaster for the vinyl edition is highly recommended as it fixes some of this and also includes the early "I Dream of Jeannie" and the Flowmotion version of "Hanging Gardens." Favorite track: Premonition Part 2.

about

"Premonition" was created when The Dots were still wet behind the ears but had just undergone their first major change in line-up.Founder members April and Phil briefly stepped out of the band while Michael Marshall returned and Roland Callaway and drummer Keith Thompson stepped into the frame to join edward Ka-Spel. The result is a true rollercoaster ride with Michael's epic songwriting and guitar playing at the forefront ("Oceans of Emotion"., "Amphitheatre"...) and some seriously wild effects, courtesy of Pat Bermingham's Space Echo. One exception is :Before The End" which featured the first LPD line-up with April providing keyboards fed through the recently purchased Yamaha CS30, and Phil chiming in with a lead line on the Dots' first keyboard (the Korg MS10).
While there is admittedly quite some duplication with "Chemical Playschool Volumes 1 & 2", this early tape album stands up in it's own right as quite a unique trip.
This cassette album was first released by the Flowmotion label in 1982 (though with a fault in duplication causing it to play a little too fast).
Subsequent editions replaced "Before The End" with "Voices' but this 2014 edition reverts to the original while retaining ``'dying For The Emperor" and "Love Puppets (version 1)" - a bonus track added to edition 2.
