The Blue Room (2012 Remaster) REDUX

thenewspaper Ka-spel really outdid himself here, creating atmospheres you almost doubt he ever intended. "Design Fault" just sounds so powerfully, sentimentally, like people rushing around at Christmastime?
This album always had such a different look about it, which made for a different feel... smooth, and minimalist in a sacred music way, but playful, edgy, difficult enough at moments so you know full well this is underground weirdo music. Very cool lyrics in this one. Favorite track: Supper at J's.

RTW This may have been the first EK album where the borders around the edges of the songs begin to fade, taking the experimentalism of Textures to a full-length album. It's a far cry from the China Doll records. Mostly subdued, it has gems like the hypnotic "Supper at J's," the soporific "Hotel Y," and the meditative "Shall We Share Water, Brother?" Favorite track: Supper at J's.

about

EDWARD KA-SPEL- THE BLUE ROOM (2012 REMASTER ) REDUX

1997. Times were hard , the house was tiny, the Ka-Spellian studio had shrunk to a
what cold be fitted onto a tiny table on a platform where the stairs turned.Normally a session meant wearing a coat as heating wasn't so effective but still cost a fortune.
Despite all that "The Blue Room"still feels like a fresh album.Initially meant as part of a trilogy of colours ,but the 3rd part was never finished.
Included in this Redux edition is a previously unheard piece "Wounded Knee" which is from the time.
