thenewspaper I have to agree this is a surprisingly strong work, though I love Ka-spel's energetic lyric songs so much. This one's a landline to outer space. This album steers right at the iceberg. And that red seawater everyone is drinking? It's the daiquiri of destiny. Favorite track: Always October.

RTW One of Edward's strongest works, this surprising release was slipped quietly upon the world and apparently only took 5 days to make. Like the Dots' 4 Days, it focuses largely on beautiful, environmental, ambient ruminations. As the title suggests, the sound is organic and rainy, but not at all soppy. The three bonus tracks are actively more electronic but still fit the mood, minus the closing piece which seems like a dark descendant of "Rapunzel" from the Legendary Pink Box. Favorite track: Always October.

I love having this in CDR format because: a) it is Edward; b) I have The Quarantine Tapes of which this is the first “volume” and, like it or not, cassette tapes are cool but they are not ultra-durable; c) the music is fabulous (OK, this should probably be the first reason, but since I already have the cassette, it must languish at “c”); and d) hopefully this means the remaining three volumes of The Quarantine Tapes will be released as lovingly made CDRs.
