Gregg Russell I came across The Tear Garden on Rdio when it suggested them as being similar to Skinny Puppy. What a beautiful, haunting album. Coma was and will always be my favorite song. Ka-Spel's wordsmithing paints such vivid pictures in my mind, its the reason I keep coming back to his work. This is a wonderful album that highlights some of the best collaboration of the '80s. Favorite track: Coma.

DJ Oddiofile This is the album that first introduced me to the music of the Puppy-Dots!
Multi-layered soundscapes, masterful lyrics that produce vivid images in your brain, the random chaos and darkness that in my mind encompasses the 80s. In every way, this album is a masterpiece, starting from the artwork and ending on the very last sound. Favorite track: You and Me and Rainbows.

RTW "Ophelia" is stunning, but if anyone claims any track other than "You and Me and Rainbows" as their favorite, then they are simply lying. The Skinny Puppy/Pink Dots crossover was never more beautifully realized - after this the Tear Garden became a band of its own. Favorite track: You and Me and Rainbows.

about

1987.Ek had opened for Skinny Puppy on a life-changing coast to coast US /canada tour. Literally a bombardment for the senses , the emotions were poured into this recording
just after the conclusion of the voyage. Several pieces only asked for a vocal to be put into place while "You and me and rainbows" was mapped out and realized in the space of a day and a night. It was the second time Tear Garden had entered Mushroom Studios. The first results can be heard on the TG EP which is represented as the last 3 bonus tracks on this extended album.
